What We Expect from You

At BelfastLad & Co Tours, we expect our guides and Guide Support Officers to be knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and professional. You should have a deep understanding of Northern Ireland’s history and culture, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage and entertain diverse groups. Punctuality, reliability, and a customer-focused approach are essential. Join us in delivering 5-star rated tours that leave a lasting impression.

Payments and training for Our Guides and Guide Support Officers

What We Pay You

At BelfastLad & Co Tours, we pay our guides and guide support officers the following rates

Guides – Full Day Tour (up to 7 Hours) £340 and Half Day Tours (up to 4 Hours) £170

Guide Support Officers – £50 expenses for a Half Day Tour and £75 Expenses for a Full Day Tour

We offer free training on our tour content, policies, procedures and ethical principles and techinical training on our VOX Whisper Sets and Guide/Officer technical communication equipment.  You can also access our Cruise Ship Partner’s online training academy at Global Cruises.

Qualifications Required

 To be considered to become a tour guide with BelfastLad & Co Tours, candidates must possess a deep knowledge of Northern Ireland’s history, culture, and geography and have achieved at least and Level Two or Three Guiding Qualification or there equivalent.  Guides should have excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and the ability to engage diverse groups of tourists. Proficiency in multiple languages is an advantage.

A passion for storytelling and a genuine enthusiasm for sharing the beauty and history of Northern Ireland are crucial. Successful applicants will become one of our pool of professional guides who will be offered tours when they become available.

Guide Support Officers need a minimum of a Level Two qualification or currently enrolled for this qualification at a recognised academic college or learning venue (proof or enrolment and a lecturers recommendation is required.)
