As such his defeat of James II (his father in law) at the Boyne is celebrated on the walls and at festivals in Belfast to this very day.  What’s not celebrated is what happened after William left Ireland the final battles of the war went on until the Treaty of Limerick was signed on the 3rd of October 1691 exactly 330 years to the day. The story of William, his journey through Belfast, his victory and the broken Treaty of Limerick is covered in our Talk at the Deer’s Head before you go on the walk through this fascinating part of our history.  You finish the tour with 25% off a Flight of Beer in the Deer’s Head where you can toast the Glorious Revolution or the ‘Little Gentleman in the Brown Velvet Wastecoat!’

Hear the bloodcurdling stories of horrible murders and punishment in our talk at the Deer’s Head before going on the tour of these streets with one of Old Belfast’s article historians Francis Higgins. Hear how summary punishment was meted out for the slightest ‘crimes’ by a society that cared more about morals than how 1000’s of Belfast’s citizen’s lived and died in a struggle to survive.  To get over the shock come back to the Deer’s Head and Bell’s Brewery for a Tipple with our 25% off a ‘flight’ of beer promotion!
